Red Cardinal Snapshot
WHAT IT DOES
CoreWeave rents access to enormous fleets of NVIDIA GPUs — the chips that train and run AI models — housed in data centers it builds or leases, wired for one job: AI computing at scale.
HOW IT MAKES MONEY
Mostly through multi-year committed contracts: an AI lab or hyperscaler reserves dedicated GPU capacity in advance, and CoreWeave borrows against those contracts — and against the chips themselves — to buy the next fleet.
WHY WE TRACK IT
CoreWeave is the AI capex cycle with the hedges removed. NVIDIA sells to many buyers; hyperscalers have other businesses; CoreWeave has one product, a few customers, and a balance sheet built on GPUs. Whatever the cycle does, it does it here first and loudest.
THE SIMPLE THESIS
A company that borrowed billions to buy chips that lose value fast, rented them to a handful of AI giants on long contracts, and turned itself into the market's cleanest bet on whether AI demand outlasts the debt. If the boom continues, nothing compounds faster. If it digests, nothing unwinds faster.
