Cookie Policy

The cookies we set, and why there are so few.

LAST UPDATED 2026-08-02

The short version

Red Cardinal sets a small number of cookies, all of them necessary. We do not run advertising cookies, and our analytics sets no cookies at all.

What we set

Authentication. When you sign in, Supabase sets a session cookie so you stay signed in and so the server can tell whether you are a member. Removing it signs you out.

Preferences. If you change your theme or reading width, that choice is stored against your account rather than in a cookie.

Measurement

We use Plausible to count page views. It is worth being precise about what that does and does not involve, because most analytics is not like this.

Plausible sets no cookies. It stores nothing on your device, assigns you no identifier, and cannot follow you to another site. It records that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from, and which site linked you here — all aggregated, none of it tied to a person. There is no profile of you because there is nothing to build one from.

That is why this site has no cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.

What we do not set

No advertising cookies. No cross-site trackers. No cookie-based analytics. No data sold or shared with advertisers.

If any of that changes, this page changes first and we will say so.

Managing cookies

You can clear cookies in your browser. Clearing the authentication cookie signs you out; nothing else breaks.
